Overview

Since 2015, the Telecommunication Links Laboratory of the country's electric power industry has started its activities at Niroo Research Institute. This laboratory was designed and built on an optical communication platform to simulate the real-world conditions of the country's electric power industry's transmission layer optical communication network and the telecommunications of the substation automation system. Its primary objectives are to perform performance testing and evaluate the requirements of the electric power industry. The laboratory also provides recommendations regarding the use of new technologies in the country's electric power industry.

Mission

Hardware Simulation of optical communication networks and equipment of the country's electric power industry in the transmission and sub-transmission layer and performance tests according to the requirements of the country's power industry

Services

  • Carrying out Performance tests and Evaluating communication requirements of the electric power industry on PDH/SDH/NG-SDH/DWDM equipment, systems and networks, and other modern communication technologies through connecting to optical communication network pilot of transmission part of Iran electric power industry
  • Evaluating communication requirements of the electric power industry on the equipment with communication interfaces, such as TPS, PMU, substation automation systems, etc.
  • The possibility of conducting tests on domestically manufactured optical communication products to evaluate the performance and compliance with standards in the design and construction stages
  • The possibility of designing all kinds of requested communication tests and performing them on the optical communication network pilot of the transmission part of the country's electric power industry
  • The possibility of designing all kinds of requested communication tests and carrying them out on the DCS substation communication pilot with the SCADA control center
  • Providing technical consultation services for the use of new technologies based on optical communication in the country’s electric power industry by evaluating the electric power industry requirements
